Scott Maier is a Colorado landscape painter whose work is inspired by his experiences in nature having been born and raised along the coast of Maine. Influenced by artists such as Neil Welliver, James Perry Wilson, and John Singer Sargent, Maier's work aims to stir viewers' inherent inclination towards quiet contemplation and observation. Through meticulous attention to light and form, he constructs immersive experiences that authentically capture the local landscape. He received his BFA from The Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has spent more than 25 years refining his approach to painting while teaching at various colleges and universities and working in media production for Artists Network and Artists Magazine.
